Day 27 – Favorite anime ending theme song

I’m honestly not sure if you have a full on favorite ending theme song. Lately, most animals have had ending songs that fell like throwaway. So I’d have to reach back a bit I think.

Probably I’d have to choose the 1st Ending of Tenchi Muyo! (OVA).

“Talent for Love”

Mainly because It’s so rare that you find such pleasantly sung and written songs from that era of dubbing.  This song is not a translation in the least. Even with the little bit of Japanese I understand, they are nothing alike. But instead of creating stupidity or translating it and wedging it in they seemed to have written a completely new song that not only fits the anime but was sung very nicely. This one may not make sense unless you had to power through the really badly translated and equally badly sung songs of the early 90’s anime. Especially shojo’s.

Trust me. They were not cute.

Tenchi Muyo! OVA  was also interesting musically because they choose to have a purely instrumental intro which I still have on my iPod till this day and gladly play it as I’m driving to work. This choice as the English ending was cute and the original animation was adorable! I mean come on:

rkcl0020

Cute anime hybrid anime that sounds like a kitty, is obsessed with carrots, and turns into a spaceship!?  And it’s done in a comical childlike style telling a simple story of the dedication of one mascot character to getting the perfect carrot throughout the seasons?

Yes, please.
